Mengal said under the project, the boundary wall, rooms, the veranda, gates of Government Boys Primary School (where Singh studied) as well as his residence would be preserved and rehabilitated.

Few people know that Singh’s house has almost vanished and no memoriam has been built at the place. After partition, Singh’s house in Jaranwala along with 38 acres land was allotted to Fazal Qadir Virk who had migrated from Chak Virk in Parvinda, district Gurdaspur, India.

His son now owns the property. Singh’s house has a berry tree, a mango tree and small room believed to have been his bedroom. A safe and a closet believed to have been used by Singh remain in the room which has narrow entry. The room is nearly 15 feet below the current ground and entry to it has become difficult.

@Osama Siddique: Dear Brother actually the common people have no problem our ancestors have been living like brothers for centuries only the leaders both religious and political parties on both sides are the problems as none of their kin is in the Army to face death . I call upon the common people on both sides to unite and say no to these leaders and ask them to live us peacefully.

I am startle to know that very few people know about Bhagat Singh in Pakistan who is undoubtedly our great hero who fought for freedom at such a young age and died for good cause, this is very encouraging step by the district government but lot more is required to preserve our real heritage.
