HYDERABAD: Former Tharparkar district and sessions judge Sikandar Ali Lashari, who has also been accused of murder, is now being investigated in a car-snatching case.

On Thursday, the police obtained two separate remands for Lashari from an anti-terrorism court (ATC) and the civil court. The judge was arrested on March 4 after he was accused of being involved in the murder of 20-year-old Aqib Shahani on February 20. He has already completed a remand of seven weeks, including a one-week judicial remand, which he served in the central jail.

The ATC on Thursday extended the remand for another 15 days, while the civil court gave a four-day remand in the car theft case, lodged on the complaint of Syed Zahid Ali, a resident of Latifabad.

Ali’s Suzuki van was snatched from Qasimabad on December 20, 2012. The FIR was lodged in the Naseem Nagar police station.

The young boy - son of Jacobabad district and session judge, Khalid Hussain Shahani - was reportedly killed for honour.
