Inappropriate: Inebriated doctor passes out on duty

Hospital staff took the doctor to the emergency ward of the hospital.

A senior doctor of Faisalabad Allied Hospital on duty on Tuesday fainted allegedly after consuming liquor.


Hospital officials said Driving Fitness Centre in-charge Dr Ghulam Qadir was on duty at the outdoor patients department (OPD) when he fainted.

Hospital staff took the doctor to the emergency ward of the hospital.

Allied Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Rashid Maqbool has taken notice of the rumoured drinking and suspended Qadir from service. Dr Mujahid Lateef has been appointed in-charge of the driving fitness centre.

Maqbool said a committee had been formed to investigate the matter and further action would be taken on the report of the committee.
