KARACHI:

Health officials and polio workers are distraught over a second reported polio case in Sindh as 22-month-old Jamila, daughter of Gul Noor, had reportedly been given polio drops at least 10 times.

The details of the girl’s health and confirmation of vaccinations are being collected, The Express Tribune learnt on Sunday.

The family is settled in Turi Bangash Colony of Union Council 7 of Orangi Town.

“We are trying to get all the details, including the child’s medical history and the family’s interaction with adjacent areas,” the provincial EPI deputy programme manager, Dr Durenaz Jamal told The Express Tribune. She said that it was the first case to surface in the area.
