Police raid: Explosives, suicide jacket seized in Kohat

Three suspected militants managed to escape before the raid.

KOHAT:


Police recovered a suicide vest with explosives and thwarted a terror bid on Friday in Bilitang, Kohat.


An official of Bilitang police, Asad Zubair, informed that heavy contingents of police raided hideouts of militants in Kam Gol and recovered a suicide vest along with high-intensity explosives. However, three suspected militants managed to escape before the raid.


Following this, the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called to the site
and BDS officials defused around five kilogrammes
of explosives.” The official added that 12 shells of anti-aircraft guns, prima cards, safety fuses and hand grenades along with detonators were also seized. “Sedative medicines were also found from the hideout during the raid,” said Zubair.


A case was filed against unidentified militants and further investigation is under way.
