KARACHI: Computerised balloting for residential plots, commercial plots, homes and apartments in the country’s most successful real estate project, Bahria Town Karachi, was held in a fair and transparent manner on Sunday at the site of Bahria Town Karachi itself.

Vice Chief Executive (VCE) Bahria Town Zain Malik, DCE Bahria Town Hamid Ilyas, senior Bahria Town officials, booking members and a number of dignitaries of Karachi were present at the occasion.

After delivering lifestyle communities in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad where thousands of residents are enjoying world-class facilities and amenities, Bahria Town Karachi will mark a new era of prosperity and development in Karachi.

“Bahria Town Karachi will serve as important development in Pakistan’s economy. This revolutionary project will not only improve the economic conditions but will also revive tourism as well as lights of the City of Quaid,” the Bahria Town VCE said at the ceremony. He said this is the first time in the history of Pakistan that a private real estate developer is providing its assets and investing billions in public infrastructure development which includes a Rs.1.8 billion flyover, two underpasses and the planned Bahria Metro Bus which is worth Rs25 billion.

“Our teams have been working relentlessly for the past many months for the design, development and ground-breaking of the Karachi project, for which we will start handing over the possession by 2015, in record breaking time,” VCE Malik said. He congratulated successful applicants and assured them that Bahria Town Karachi will exceed their expectations.

Successful applicants were extremely excited and said they were very eager to start living in Bahria Town Karachi. Local businessman Babar Tanoli said the exemplary project will provide employment to hundreds of thousands and support more than 55 allied industries. “This project is what Karachi needs in times like these,” he said.

Housewife Mrs Lubna added that she is very excited to be part of the Bahria Town family and cannot wait to start living in what is the most futuristic lifestyle community of Pakistan.

Bahria Town Karachi is being developed as Karachi’s first master-planned, gated community district. A highlight of this project is that it will be a completely ‘safe city’. International consultants are designing a state-of-the-art security and rescue service system and all homes will be insured against fire and theft. An insurance company will compensate for losses in case of fire and theft.

Another highlight of the project is the 400-foot-wide Jinnah Avenue Boulevard inspired by the Sheikh Zayed Road which will crisscross the entire community. Another marvel of this project will be Karachi’s largest mall: The Mall of Karachi.

Another highlight of Bahria Town Karachi is its own power generation plants which will provide complete relief from load-shedding.  Bahria Town Karachi’s luxurious lifestyle has been designed keeping in mind the ‘neighborhood concept’, which ensures that parks, sports area, mosques and schools are present in each sector and close to every house.

Apart from this, an 18-hole USGA standard golf course, beautiful lakes, five-star hotels, gold-class cinemas, gold souk, international theme park, playland, water rides, replicas of the wonders of the world, medical and IT college, international university and research lab, health district and international standard hospital, cricket stadium and indoor sports facilities, Cinegold Plex cinemas, clubhouse, zoo and botanical gardens are the highlights of the project.

In the end Bahria Town management thanked all the guests and the people of Karachi who made the launch of Bahria Town a huge success. They said that by the grace of the Almighty, they will deliver a project beyond their expectations.

Bahria Town Karachi is a unique and distinct housing scheme for not just Karachi but the entire country, which is being planned and developed with a futuristic vision. It will play a positive role in developing and supporting the economy of Karachi.
