KARACHI: The Supreme Court appointed a Larkana district and sessions judge as inquiry officer to investigate the attack on a Hindu dharmshala that had partially damaged a mandir, Express News reported on Thursday.
On March 16, a group had attacked and set a Hindu dharmshala in Jinnah Bagh area on fire. The attack was reportedly in reaction to alleged desecration of pages of the Holy Quran by a drug addict, Sangeet Kumar, who belonged to the Hindu community.
While hearing the Larkana attack case today, the apex court ordered that a report regarding the incident be submitted to the court in 15 days. The case was heard at the Karachi registry of the Supreme Court.
Hindus account for around nine percent of Larkana’s population of around 400,000 with many running their own businesses.
A strike was observed in the city on March 16 as people had protested against the alleged desecration. Police had arrested Kumar after enraged supporters of various religious parties attacked the dharamshala.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also taken notice of the attack. Expressing grief over the incident, the premier had said that protection of worship places of minorities was the responsibility of the government.

It was very sad story, we never want such type of behavior with any one specially for minorities...I read comments of friends with different opinion, but it very clear that we dnt want to compare with any one,,,,,what ever India is doing with muslims is worse but we will not take revenge with hindus ,those are living with us...our religion is peaceful and we should remain calm..those culprits are here they are enemy of all of us,no body should be allowed to enter in others domain..every one have right to live with his own satisfactory....

The situation of at least half the indian muslims is also same but reasons maybe different. Someday that has to happen things can't go like this forever. But there are disillusioned people like Vinod who would oppose it.
I always try to approach the Indian Government to tell the fact & figures, while there is no positive response from Indian Government i know many Hindus who migrated from Pakistan they even couldn't get the Nationality its the lack of Government i agree that India is democratic country comparatively other countries but this serious issue Government do not support to us. Can you imagine if anything would be happens with Christan then whole countries supported to Pakistani Christan, But No one support to Hindus even USA fully supported to Pakistani Christan Community its good they are supporting their community but what about Pakistani Hindus. We won't to go migrate because many Sindhi Hindus running their businesses and There are well-established businesses furthermore no one can beat to Hindus in term of businesses dealing but these type of incident constrain to our community and till the end i will serve for my community my people of Larkana, my people of Sindhi as well as i will die for my country Because we believe in Sufism and Sufism defined that love to humanity and serve for Humanity. While i will fight against these types of crime but i need your fully support.

When about a hundred Ahmadis were massacred a few years ago in Lahore, there was no judge, police, PM, or that suo moto thing was done. Not to that only but there were many of their mosques, houses, businesses destroyed and believers murdered but nil of the culprits were ever arrested or punished, and this is still going on. It was all always ignored by the state but this one temple has really moved them all. Wow. The very last para of the article will make me laugh for a very long time. Please publish. Thanks.
@Hozzur: Agree but at the end of the day things are decided by politician and people. In india hindus are very much divided on this issue as thinking for hindus is term as being communal. As long as they are not united things won't change.

Indians may welcome, but the Indian government certainly doesn't.
Just ask those hundreds of Hindu refugees in Rajasthan who have to apply for a visa every year. This comes with the headache of renewing their Pakistani passport in case it expires, police verification, police reporting, local sponsor and limited mobility.
It is inconceivable that India, who provided a home to persecuted Jews, Zoroastrians and Tibetans, does not fast-track a long-term stay visa for documented religious refugees who are being persecuted in their home states. On the other hand, we let in millions of economic refugees from Bangladesh whose lives are not at stake.
@vinsin: India should follow principle of Israel.Jews have a legal right to migrate to Israel.Similarly India should offer this right to all Hindus from anywhere in the world!

@Akshay: That is not true. Congress has refused to protest and give visa to Pakistani Hindus. Hindus has been asking since independence where they are supposed to go in case of persecution.

Our brothers and sisters belonging to various religious minorities should be given full protection and immediate justice. The Govt must ensure no one should be able to repeat such deplorable acts.
Well lets see what happens according my opinion, later on the victims & Fanatic people will be release, i have surveyed many cases which are pending in the supreme court and some of them has been rejected. While i have seen nowadays there are many Hindus waiting in the line of passport office in Larkana and they eagerly want to shift another country due to some horrified incident happened with Hindus. But what about those Hindus who couldn't afford even for visas & passports. Many Minorities are running their businesses and there are well-established businesses No One can beat them while this current situation extremely affects the whole Minorities of Pakistan. There is no peace in this country i was sure that Larkana is one of the best city in the Pakistan where we were have the rights and even unity but i was mistaken. i just want to ask from administration tell me the case detail of Dr.Partab Rai who was attacked by unknown person in Larkana City. yet we have time to protect our country but before this judiciary must play their positive role.
