ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani have taken notice on the deaths of children in Tharparkar, Sindh due to acute malnutrition.

Nawaz Sharif directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to immediately get in touch with the authorities in Sindh and provide all possible aid and assistance.

Suo moto notice

Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took suo moto notice over the death of children in Thar.

According to details, CJP took notice after reports of the tragedy appeared in the media emerged pointing towards the deaths of as many as a hundred children.

CJ Jillani, while passing the order, sought a report from Chief Secretary Sindh and decided to fix the matter for hearing on March 10, 2014 (Monday) in Islamabad.

Earlier, former CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also submitted a letter to his successor CJ Jillai, urging him to take suo motu notice regarding this issue.
