KARACHI:

Argentine Ambassador Rodolfo Martin Saravia has underlined the need for making efforts to enhance exchange of trade delegations and interaction between private sectors of Pakistan and Argentina.

Speaking to businessmen at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, he said trade volume between the two countries had always remained in favour of Argentina, except for last year when it tilted in Pakistan’s favour.

“We must work hard on how to improve trade regardless of whether it favours Pakistan or Argentina,” he added.

The diplomat asked businessmen to diversify exports and go beyond traditional export goods. He highlighted sectors like textile, pharmaceutical, livestock, dairy, agriculture, etc where chances of cooperation were quite high.

Pakistan had a huge market for meat and Argentina could help it in meat processing for export and domestic consumption, he said.
