DUBAI: Pakistan defeated England by 3 wickets in the under-19 World Cup semi-final on Monday evening, Express News reported.

The England under-19 team had given Pakistan a target of 205 runs, which Pakistan met at the first ball of the last over.

Four runs were required for six balls when Amad Butt hit a four.

Victory seemed unlikely when the Pakistani team lost their seventh wicket for 142 runs and Amad Butt came on the pitch. However, Zafar Gohar remained calm. He made only two runs during his first four overs, and his and Amad's partnership proved beneficial. Together they made 63 runs. Gohar was named Man of the Match.

The victory earned the Pakistan under-19 team a berth in the under-19 World Cup final.

Pakistan had previously defeated Sri Lanka, while England had defeated India, in the quarterfinals.
