xeeshan | 13 years ago | Reply Another catch phrase: "not representative of all muslims"! What difference does that make? You are right, I don't approve of religion. My point, which admittedly might not have been very clear, was that even the most liberal of muslims can't bring themselves around to finding any fault with the teachings of their religion. Its always the fault of something or somebody else. Islam needs a reformation and badly but it doesn't seem possible since muslims believe that nothing can be challenged or improved upon. When it is said that most muslims are not like the taliban, what exactly does that mean? The taliban are following the most literal interpretation of religion possible aren't they? Against their reasoning, so-called liberal muslims don't have a leg to stand upon. Women are supposed to cover themselves, apostates like me should be murdered, hands should be cut off for stealing, adulterers should be stoned to death etc. Your religion wants us to go back to something that many, though possibly not you, would find abhorrent. Tell me would you be able to debate against any of the above with a muslim "scholar"? Of course not, he would tell you that this is god's will and that would be that.
Waqar | 13 years ago | Reply @ xeeshan "When will you muslims realize that the trouble is with religion itself." So, are you implying that such statements by people who are not representative of all Muslims in Pakistan, reinforce your apparent hatred for religion? How naive and prejudicial! Please elaborate?
