ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) representatives and former Supreme Court Bar Association president Asma Jahangir traded barbs on Friday after the latter was accused of insulting the PTI chief.

PTI Central Information Secretary Shireen Mazari said on Fridat that by accusing party chief Imran Khan of being a "Taliban informer," Jahangir had insulted the leader of the second largest political party in the country.

She said party leadership had decided to take up the issue in Parliament next week.

“Such irresponsible statements are also a breach of privilege of the leader of the PTI in the National Assembly and this issue will be taken up with the Speaker of the National Assembly when it meets on the 24th of February,” said PTI spokesperson.

“Jahangir has herself been a long time informant to external forces destabilising the country so she assumes everyone else must be doing the same especially since she is aware of those forces who have been subsidised by India for decades and have old links with the Indian political establishment as well as with those Afghan political leaders with families based in India,” said Mazari.

Earlier this week former SCBA president had called Imran Khan a “Taliban Informer”.

Jahangir said that she stood by her stance that the PTI chief is an immature politician.

“As I said earlier let [Imran] Khan first reach political maturity before I respond wayward juveniles in politics,” she told The Express Tribune.

Both Ik and Asma are guilty. Ik is coming to senses after TTP made it difficult for him to maiantain his position that it is purely an American war. When they admitted to so many bombings and killings and beheadings, PTI had no option but to protest in lahore(which media somehow ignored) agaisnt their own past position. But late than never. About Asma, the less said is better. She is ruining her reputition as a an upright person.I agree generally with his anti establishment and anti right wing positions but she should not corss limits . She tends to oppose everything which Pakistan dies and favour alomst everything which India or west does. To top it all she sided with Musharraf which was really a shame.
