Spring is the best season for hair. It’s not too cold, so your hair isn’t dried out, and it’s not too hot, so your hair isn’t greasy. New York Fashion week has given us insight into the hottest hair trends this season, and we can’t wait to see everyone pulling them off. Here’s the low-down, as told by Harper’s Bazaar.

Flowers

They aren’t just for whimsical hippies any more. Flowers dominated the runway this season, with Zac Posen, Anna Sui and Dolce & Gabbana models all sporting the trend. Be it a flower crown if you’re going for something a little dramatic or a simple clip or pin to sweep your bangs to one side, go for it. Flowers are the perfect hair accessory this season!

Gold details

Here’s another spin on hair accessories this season. Gold, gold, gold! Pick up a headband, as seen on models wearing Elie Saab, dust some glitter in your hair, or tie your hair up with a golden hair tie, courtesy Jason Wu. It’s really that simple.

Old world braids

Also known as milkmaid braids, these have jumped right out of the sets of Game of Thrones and onto the runway! These are a little on the unconventional side, but would look great at a formal event paired with some golden details. You can combine the two trends to really make a statement.

Ornate ponytails

Gone are the days when you could just throw your hair up into a ponytail and run off. Now, spice up your everyday look with pins, twists and tucks. You can both tame your mane and look fabulous. There are number of tutorials on websites such as Pinterest to help you get the perfect, ornate ponytail.
