Hajj corruption: Ex establishment secy granted protective bail

Qureshi stands accused of violating rules in appointing Rao Shakeel Ahmad as Hajj director general.

The Lahore High Court on Friday granted protective bail to former establishment secretary Ismail Qureshi in the Hajj corruption case.

A special central judge had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Qureshi in the morning and told him to appear in court on February 8. Qureshi approached the LHC through advocate Akram Qureshi pleading that he wanted to join the investigation and requested protective bail. The court accepted the petition and granted him protective bail till February 11. Qureshi stands accused of violating rules in appointing Rao Shakeel Ahmad as Hajj director general.
