ISLAMABAD:

The inquiry against civilian officers in the Rs4.142 billion scam in the National Logistic Cell (NLC) is still pending with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) because the GHQ and NLC are not passing on the relevant records.

This was stated by the law ministry in response to a question forwarded by MNA Arif Alvi in the National Assembly on Thursday.

The bureau through the law ministry stated that as many as 11 correspondences have been exchanged during the last two years with the GHQ and NLC seeking the relevant records, but no response has been received from the relevant authorities.

NAB also presented details of each letter and reminder written to the NLC, GHQ and defence secretary.

It pointed out that the inquiry against Saeedur Rehman, former chief financial officer of NLC, and others on allegations of unauthorised investment is under way.
