KARACHI: Former Senior Adviser to the Punjab Chief Minister and PML-N leader Zulfiqar Khosa on Tuesday married the granddaughter of Nawab of Kalat, Radio Pakistan reported.

Khosa is around 79 years of age while his bride Faryal is about 35 years old.

The wedding was a low-key affair that took place in DHA area of Karachi. The event was attended by Khosa's sons Dost Muhammad and Hassam Khosa along with a few other friends and family.

Sources say the new bride has gifted cars to her husband's sons to celebrate her marriage.

Faryal has a house in Balochistan and another in Karachi, where she has also served as a party member in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Sources from inside Khosa's family claim he has married again because his first wife Nadra Bibi is sick and suffers from an ailment of the spine.

Khosa was close to the Sharif brothers during their last term in the Punjab, from 2008 to 2013. He was a senior adviser to Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister, and was in charge of the chief minister’s office located at 90 The Mall.

The relationship became strained in 2012 after Khosa opposed his first cousin Sardar Amjad Khan Khosa’s joining the PML-N, but Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and MNA Rana Tanveer were able to convince the Sharifs to overlook Zulfiqar Khosa’s objections. Later, his son Dost Muhammad Khosa spoke against Shahbaz Sharif, which made matters worse. Right before the election his son Saifuddin Khan Khosa joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He is also said to have resisted the joining of Leghari group.

They have free will and they can marry as long as they are adults. Looks weird but hey, a lot of cultures are still that way.

Ishaq | 10 years ago | Reply why is this a problem? they married out of their free will? I am sick of people who see this as an issue.
