Tableeghi elders appreciated the support of the chief minister and his cabinet for the Tableeghi Jamaat and hoped they would spare time from their busy schedules and visit the centre to listen to sermons.

In a handout issued by the CM Secretariat, CM Pervez Khattak visited the Lady Reading Hospital on Friday where he enquired about the health of those injured in the blast. A hospital official said 28 injured were still under treatment of which three were in critical condition.

Khattak also visited the Tableeghi Markaz and met elders who thanked the government for its support. On the occasion, Khattak said the best option of the time was negotiations with the Taliban which was the mandate given by the all-parties conference.

He said the police force was not for battling terrorism but for the protection of citizens, adding the Peshawar Church attack and the one on the Tableeghi Markaz are part of a nefarious, but failed attempt to sabotage negotiations with the Taliban.
