A drone strike has killed at least seven people in the Sanzali area of district Datta Khel late at night on Monday, reports say.

The unmanned US drone fired six missiles on two suspected militant hideouts in the Sanzali area of the district of Datta Khel in Miranshah, North Waziristan.

The targeted area is considered a notorious hub of the Taliban.

In the last drone attack on Friday, a US drone killed four and injured two in the Machi Khel village in North Waziristan.

Just two days before that on Wednesday, another US drone attacked a compound and killed six militants in the Datta Khel region of North Waziristan.

The strike is the latest in a series of US operations in the region which are believed to have targeted Taliban and al Qaeda militants.

The United States recently massively ramped up its drone campaign in the northwest tribal region on the Afghan border, amid intelligence claims of a Mumbai-style terror plot to launch attacks on European cities.
