ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Thursday called for efforts to highlight social and literary values of all regional languages.

He said this while addressing a Mehfil-e- Mushaira of all Pakistani languages organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).

The minister said that Pakistani languages were rich in culture.

Renowned poet Anwar Masood said that Urdu was like the Indus River while the regional languages work as its reservoirs.

“Urdu would continue to benefit from other Pakistani languages,” he said.

Chairman PAL Abdul Hameed termed regional languages a pot of
flowers with different fragrances.

“Pakistani languages are an asset of our literature and the PAL is working for their promotion through publications and such literary gatherings.”
