According to police investigation official Mushtaq Khan, unidentified assailants in a group of about 20 suspected militants attacked the Natyan police check post on November 20. The militants had hurled grenades and opened fire at the law enforcement officials. Four attackers were killed in retaliatory fire from the police. The official confirmed police had initially shifted bodies to District Headquarters Swabi for identification and autopsy, however, no one claimed the bodies. Consequently, the municipal committee members buried the bodies in Kalu Khan. Relatives of the attackers identified three of the bodies as Habibur Rehman, Myad Ali and Naeemur Rehman. The bodies were then exhumed and handed over to their relatives, while the identity of the fourth attacker still remains unidentified.
