Inflation: Index up 1.23% during week

The SPI for combined groups was up by 0.95%.

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week has registered an increase of 1.23% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week, under review for the above mentioned group, was recorded at 209.44 points against 206.89 points registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for combined groups was up by 0.95%; up  from 214.28 points in the previous week to 216.31 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 15.51%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 3 items registered a decrease, 28 items increased and prices of the remaining 22 items remained unchanged.
