RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi police have finalised a security plan for the 9th and 10th of Muharram. According to the security plan, 5,000 police and Rangers personnel will perform duties throughout the district to provide security to processions and mourners. Under the plan, closed-circuit television cameras will be installed along procession routes and people will not be allowed to watch processions from the rooftops of their houses. Police personnel would be deployed on rooftops at sensitive places. Bomb disposal squad members will clear procession routes. As part of the security plan, walkthrough gates will also be installed at entry and exit points of every route and the procession routes will be sealed with barbed wires at sensitive places to avoid any untoward incident.
