KARACHI: Police and Rangers conducted a raid at notorious gangster Baba Ladla’s residence during a Lyari operation on Friday, Express News reported.

Bullets, five Kalashnikovs, two pistols and two hand grenades were seized during the raid.

A car parked at Ladla’s residence was also seized by the police.

However, Noor Mohammad aka Baba Ladla managed to get away.

On September 16, Rangers’ personnel had apprehended three of Ladla's close aides during an operation in Karachi’s old areas.

According to a Rangers’ official, the earlier raids were carried out at the main hideouts of Lyari gang war elements on Lyari Maternity Road, Slaughter Yard Road and Dubai Chowk and at the hideouts of suspects, Jasim Golden, Baba Ladla and Ustad Taju in Lyari.

Ishrat salim | 10 years ago | Reply Karachites...present operation is just an eyewash....it may seem to have brought some relief, but overall it is a lull before a storm.....the recent patch up between PPP and MQM will create same atmosphere like before....because of recent operation both parties are suffering and earnings have dwindled for both...this need to be restored....nobody is bothered for the lives of the poor people but themselves...remember, if this time Karachi is pushed to the wall...whether ones likes it or not....Army will step in and governor rule will be imposed.....this will be order of the SC.

In other parts of the world, Ladla is someone sweet, innocent, beloved... However in Pakistan, with Kalashnikovs, pistols this term takes a new meaning
