Improvement plans: Govt ensures railway sector growth

Utmost efforts are being carried out to make the railway sector a profitable organisation, says Rafiq.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafiq has said that maximum efforts are being ensured to bring improvements in the railway sector. He said utmost efforts are being carried out to make the railway sector a profitable organisation. He said concrete steps would be taken to reduce billions of loss encountered previously. Rafiq said appropriate measures have been taken to increase the speed of trains covering long distances and such efforts need huge investment to improve the capacity of the track. He said that the government is working on the metro train project in Lahore along with circular railway project in Karachi.
