LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has sought a fresh report from the Nankana Sahib district and sessions judge within a week about the police investigation into an alleged gang rape. According to press reports, the girl, accompanied by her 11-year-old cousin, was heading home to Syedwala Town from a nearby shrine when they were abducted by three men. They allegedly raped her for a couple of hours, also allegedly forcing her cousin to sexually assault her. Her father alleged that the police had only registered a case five days after he had filed a complaint, also omitting one of the accused from the FIR. The victim’s medical exam had also been delayed by a week, he said. The Nankana Sahib judge had already reported this to the LHC earlier. He was told to make sure the SHO submits the investigation report on time.
