Man hammered to death by brother.

RAWALPINDI:

A man was allegedly killed by his older brother with a hammer following a quarrel over a domestic dispute in their home in Saddat Colony, Shamasabad, on Saturday.

The accused, who is believed to be mentally-challenged, was arrested by the Sadiqabad police along with hammer that was allegedly used in the murder.

A murder case has been registered.

According to Sadiqabad Police Station House Officer (SHO) Malik Allah Yar, a brawl occurred between brothers Kabir and Tanveer at their home after a domestic dispute.

He said that Kabir lifted a hammer lying nearby and hit Tanveer on the head with it, killing him on the spot.

The police arrested Kabir and seized the hammer. Replying to a query, the SHO said that during preliminary investigations, it appeared that Kabir was mentally-challenged, but added that this would only be confirmed after he is observed by doctors.

The police moved the body to a hospital, where doctors handed over the body to Tanveer’s family after conducting a postmortem.
