Dangerous school building: EDO orders inquiry against principal

EDO inspected schools in the district and found buildings of 150 schools in dilapidated condition.

GUJRANWALA: Education Executive District Officer Ayaz Tariq on Friday ordered an inquiry against the headmistress of the Government Primary Girls School in Gondlanwala after the school building was found unfit for use. As many as 150 students were shifted to the adjacent building. The order came after the executive district officer made a surprise visit to the school. He inspected schools in the district and found buildings of 150 schools in dilapidated condition. The EDO also ordered all assistant executive officers and district officer to submit a report in this regard in seven days. Talking to media, the EDO said that the district government would demolish building of the Government Primary Girls School Gondlanwala and reconstruct it. He said action would be taken against negligent principals and education officers. He said every student had the right to study in a secure environment.
