Personal reasons: Motiwala quits as BoI chief

Zubair Motiwala says he could give enough time for the post.

KARACHI: Zubair Motiwala has resigned as the chairman of the Board of Investment (BoI), Government of Sindh, with immediate effect citing personal reasons.

"I cannot afford that much time demanded by this post," he confirmed to APP on Thursday.

Motiwala is a leading textile industrialist and exporter of the country. He has also served as the president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and chairman of the SITE Association of Industry.

Motiwala served as the Sindh Chief Minister's advisor on investment before being brought on board as the chairman of BoI in July, 2011.

In his two year long stint at the BoI, Motiwala oversaw a number of agreements and trade pacts with a number of local and international organisations.

Met with this man. Truly a self made entrepreneur with a passion for paying back. A great loss for Pakistan and especially for Sindh.
