The movie Diana caused quite a stir ever since it was announced, with the late princess’ ex-beau cardiologist Hasnat Khan being the main target. Last month, Princess Diana’s close friend Jemima Khan revealed some hidden secrets about Diana’s relationship with Khan. However, Khan chose to remain silent over media’s growing curiosity.
But now after the release of the film, the 54-year-old doctor has finally faced the critics and slammed it. Khan told The Sun that even though he hasn’t seen the film, he believes, “it’s based on a superficial idea and is a betrayal” of facts, according to nydailynews.com. For the longest time, Khan was tight-lipped but “when it’s in your face, it’s hard”.
“I can see a lot of humour in a lot of bad things, but in this one, I can't,” he said. “I haven't seen the film and I haven't met anyone who has seen it. But I can tell you for sure that it's based on a superficial idea. I have kept things very discreet, but now this film is trying to open things up again.”
Khan has never discussed any details of their relationship publicly and feels that the movie is now making things difficult. “The past few weeks have been tough,” he told the Daily Mail. “I know Diana would be saying, ‘Stay focused and keep getting on with your life … Be happy’.”
Khan has also rejected the claim that his family refused to get them married because Diana was a non-Muslim. Divorced in 2008, Khan is now single and practices medicine in England.

He appears to respect his and his friends' privacy. Being a physician, Hasnat can read and write which would have provided him enough exposure to familiarise with some cruicial details of the upcoming movie. Probably his circle of friends had discussed it over naan and curry which according to him was basis enough to form an educated opinion. . It definitely shows a greater personal integrity by him not aping IK to capitalise on a his personal loss to become the cornerstone of his political career. . Thanks for not becoming a politician.
Even our Punjabi stage actor Amanat Chan alias Kaala Butt, would have more suited for the role of Hasnat Khan then the Dravidian "Naveen Andrews".
Hasnat wont have to worry if there is any NO wrongdoing on his part. Diana is already gone - and any moral/ethical person wont CAPITALIZE on her absence. But hey, we are talking about WESTERN / movies things - so there is no consideration about truth/falsehood, living/dead, morals/ethics or religion as well - as far as it makes money!
“I can see a lot of humour in a lot of bad things, but in this one, I can’t” - this line defines why Diana fell for him. With an attitude like this she had to fall in love with this guy. After all, "If you can make a girl laugh, you can make her do anything" (Marylin Monroe). And I also liked when Diana said, "Hasnat is the one person who will never sell me out". This is quite an interesting love story and Hasnat's preference to stay private makes it even more intriguing. Seems a good man.
The good doctor has to be careful. Otherwise, he could, like Diana, finish up being very ill in a Paris tunnel.

If Princess Diana during her lifetime has not revealed any thing about Hasnat Khan, then it is better not to malign Princess Diana after her tragic death.
Hasnat Khan is tight lipped and Princess Diana is no more in the world to admit or clarify her position.

They sent him the film's script while it was in production. That's how he knows. I feel the comments were harsh, but I can't blame them. I feel the report should have mentioned this fact.
