LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday set aside the demotion orders of four sub-inspectors of Punjab Police and directed the inspector general to give them a fair hearing before deciding their case. Wajid Ali, Fida Hussain, Chaudhary Razzaq and Arshad Bajwa, submitted through their counsel Arif Gondal, that they had been demoted without being heard. Gondal said the LHC had already cancelled demotion orders in a similar case and directed the IGP to decide their case afresh. After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Ayesha A Malik set aside the demotion order and directed the IGP to decide their representation in one week.
