Objective journalism?

Letter October 08, 2010
Achieving objectivity is very difficult because it is human nature to have and form impressions and opinions

KARACHI: “The myth of objective journalism” by Omar Bilal Akhtar (October 7) highlights important aspects of the media industry.  Achieving objectivity in any scenario is very difficult, if not impossible, because it is human nature to have and form impressions and opinions about everything around us. Individuals who control media organisations hold opinions about other social groups which influence the views that they present.  The article made me think and question the strong impact that media can have on forming our opinions/ perspectives.
