ISLAMABAD:
President Zardari said that smooth and peaceful transition of power from one democratic government to another reflects that democracy has gradually taken root in the country.
He called upon all the political forces to work together towards further strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. The president was speaking to a group of former and incumbent parliamentarians from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan who had separately called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The participants appreciated his efforts for adopting a policy of reconciliation. The delegations thanked the president for working to ensure an end to the sense of deprivation in the peoples of K-P and Balochistan provinces.
The president said that it was the policy of reconciliation, which strengthened democracy and made possible a smooth transfer of power from one elected government to other in a smooth and democratic way. He said that all our efforts should be geared towards strengthening democracy.

Democracy doesn't come cheap. During the U.S. civil war for justice and democratic values over 620,000 of it's citizens died and it took decades to recover from a devastated economy. So relatively speaking Pakistan has just liked it's first taste of democracy. As long as it keeps moving in the right direction making sacrifices will be part of it.
Love Zardari. Everyone is the same. People here in Pakistan are very easily influenced from propaganda.
Hate him or love him, he has pulled out something that no one else could in Pakistan i.e. transition of government from one democratic government to another.
