LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Gulberg SHO for August 21 on a petition seeking a case against nine Christians for allegedly occupying and selling land owned by the Christian Educational Endowment Trust.

Petitioner Victor Azariah submitted that in 1970, the Commission on Ecumenical Mission of the United Presbyterian Church in the United States had given 56 acres, 6 kanals and 14 marlas in Ichhra, Lahore, to the Christian Educational Endowment Trust

The petitioner alleged that Samuel B Massey, Sadiq Gill, Munir Phool, Mushtaq Assi, Sajeel Dass, Arif Gill, Georage Waseem Shah, Yuhanna Bhatti and Lidwin Joseph were posing as trustees with the aim of appropriating the property.

He alleged that the men had previously illegally taken over and sold church land and the superior courts had passed judgments against them. He said that the men were helping land grabbers.

He said that he had approached the Gulberg SHO to lodge a complaint, but the police officer was refusing to register a case. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case.

Azariah said that he was a trustee of the Christian Educational Endowment Trust and had been authorised to file the petition at an emergency meeting of the board of trustees on July 20, 2013.
