Deadly: Two die in separate incidents

The police registered an FIR and began an investigation to ascertain the facts behind the suicide.

A young adult lost his life in a flash flood while collecting wood from the overflowed tributary of river Poonch in district Kotli on Saturday.


The body of 20-year-old Iqbal Ahmad, a resident of Pholoot Sehansa, was recovered by the police and locals nearby. He was buried in his ancestral graveyard.

Separately, 19-year-old Tayyaba Haider, a resident of Tariqabad, ended here life on Saturday after jumping from the Quaid-i-Azam Bridge on Jehlum River.

Police and rescue workers could not recover the body from the river and sent word to authorities in Azad Pattan, Dadyal and Mangla to be on a lookout. The police registered an FIR and began an investigation to ascertain the facts behind the suicide.
