Robbery: Jewellery taken away from shop

The security guard of a neighbouring shop shot at the robbers but missed.

BAHAWALPUR: Jewellery worth millions of rupees was taken away by armed robbers on Thursday evening from a shop in Sadiq Bazaar. The owner of Diamond Cut Jewellers, Rana Azeem, told the media that a man wearing a mask had entered his shop on Thursday and opened fire. He said the man was soon joined by a woman. The two had collected jewellery from the shop. He said the security guard of a neighbouring shop, Saif, had shot at the robbers but missed. The robbers had fled the scene on a motorcycle, he added.
