UNITED KINGDOM: Malala Yousufzai met with her friend Shazia Rehman after she flew to the United Kingdom on Monday.
She also met with former UK prime minister Gordon Brown during her visit.
Shazia was injured along with Malala when they were attacked by militants last year, as their school van travelled through Swat Valley on October 9.
The attack drew worldwide condemnation.
Malala was flown to Britain for surgery on her head injuries and joined school in Birmingham, central England, in March.
Malala has become a global symbol of the campaign for the right of girls to an education and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

A respected newspaper like Tribune should get images from a news/photo agency and not "lift" them from Twitter. Khalid Khan is not from a photo agency. Maybe the actual owner of the photo will sue Tribune for copyright infringement.
I found so many negative comments about Malala on facebook posted by Pakistani females. I wonder if all of these ladies are students of Lal Masjid?
@wishal: and may i add that not every kid harmed by Taliban gets news room, this kid was doing a lot more then those twice her age in her area and was targeted for that very reason.

@wishal: one difference between this kid and those that you may refer to as the victims of drone strike is that one killer targets kids and beats the chest after doing it, and the other targets that killer. While I dont intend to defend any of the two I must add that Islam(incorrectly used by these taliban for justifying their atrocious crimes) teaches you clear rules of war, killing children is definetly not one of them.

The 'taliban' shoot one girl, the whole world knows. America kills hundreds of children in drone attacks, nobody cares. If only people would start thinking out of the boundaries that have been defined for them, the picture would be a whole lot clearer. this girl took a bullet in her head and was lucky to live and tell the story. What happens to all the children who don't live to tell? Just because she was attacked by the 'taliban' she is entitled to all this fame and glory, do you think if this girl had been killed in a drone attack we would have ever even heard about her? get injured by the 'taliban' and you get nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Get killed by America and nobody even knows you ever existed.

A friend of mine saw her in UK himself and he said that she did survive a bullet injury to head. To all the other non-believers out there.
