Bugti murder case: Balochistan police wants to arrest Musharraf

Provincial government filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court for shifting the case to Islamabad or Rawalpindi.

QUETTA:

A special team of the Balochistan Crime Branch has left for Islamabad to arrest former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in connection with the 2006 killing of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawab Akbar Bugti.

After receiving warrants for Musharraf’s arrest, the team headed by Rehmatullah Niazi flew to the federal capital in a special airplane reserved for the Balochistan police chief on Wednesday. The arrest warrants have been issued by anti-terrorism court Judge Muhammad Ismail Baloch a day earlier.

The provincial government has filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court for shifting the case to Islamabad or Rawalpindi as it does not have the resources to provide security to the former president.
