PML-N's Mir Jan Jamali elected as Balochistan Assembly speaker

Mir Abdul Qadus Bizenjo was elected as deputy speaker.

QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali has been elected unopposed as the speaker of Balochistan Assembly while Mir Abdul Qadus Bizenjo was elected as deputy speaker on Monday.

A meeting of the parliamentary board of PML-N and Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) was called where speaker and deputy speaker of 10th elected assembly of Balochistan were elected.

Jamali would assume charge of the assembly as the 13th speaker and Bizenjo would be the 15th deputy speaker.

Both speaker and deputy speakers would take oath on June 4, during the assembly session.

Earlier on June 3, National Party (NP) President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was nominated for the slot of provincial chief minister.
