Road accident: Two killed, 16 injured

The vehicle lost control due to a mechanical failure and fell in a roadside ravine.

ABBOTTABAD: Two passengers were killed and 16 others, including the driver and two women, were injured when a van plunged into a roadside gorge near Khokhar Maira on Wednesday night.

Quoting eyewitnesses and the injured, the police gave a statement on Thursday that a Toyota HiAce was on en route to Haripur. The vehicle lost control due to a mechanical failure and fell in a roadside ravine. A passenger identified as Abdul Rasheed of Havelian city was killed on the spot. The injured and the dead were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex where another critically wounded passenger Taous Khan succumbed to his injuries.
