QUETTA:

While winning parties have stepped up efforts to cobble together a coalition government, those who fared badly in the May 11 elections are staging protest against alleged rigging in the elections.

Dozens of workers of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) staged a demonstration outside the Provincial Election Commission office. The party’s officials, including Dr Jahazaib Jamaldini, Agha Hassan Baloch and Sajid Tareen addressed the protesters. They blamed ‘hidden forces’ for ‘usurping’ the mandate of their party in the elections. They alleged that in Balochistan a ‘selection’ was made in the name of ‘elections’.

The BNP-M leaders said ‘true representatives’ of the Baloch people were denied entry in the assemblies which reflected the anti-Baloch mindset of the establishment.

Meanwhile, Akram Dashti, a former speaker of Balochistan Assembly and a candidate of National Party (NP), who contested elections from PB-50, also alleged that the elections were rigged in his constituency.

I respect Mengal for his integrity.

However, if we see election result most of Nationalist Parties won almost 12 seats, which shows great strength. Still majority of Independent contestant or PML (N) winners are again influencial Ethnic Baloch personals.

After all, they have to decide the best future of area and the people.
