RAWALPINDI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday asked the Inspector General of the Punjab Police to immediately transfer the superintendents of police for Rawal Town and the Crime Investigation Agency in Rawalpindi.

The decision was taken after complaints from various political parties for not transferring four SPs in the city in line with past ECP orders.

The ECP asked the IG Punjab to immediately transfer Rawal SP Muhammad Hanif and CIA SP Haseeb Shah.

The Jamaat-e-Islami had written a letter to the ECP demanding the immediate transfer of Saddar Circle SP Waheedur Rehman Khattak, Potohar Town SP Haroon Joya, Rawal Town SP Muhammad Hanif, and CIA SP Haseeb Shah.

They are expected to be transferred within the next 48 hours, according to the commission.
