Flash floods: Eight injured in Bara road accident

Khasadars and locals pulled the vehicle from the stream and recovered five of the injured passengers.

Eight people, including children, were injured when a passenger pick-up was pushed over by flash floods in Bara, Khyber Agency on Saturday.


A Bara political administration official said they were informed of the incident at around 8am by a resident of Alam Gudar. Eight people were missing following the accident, he said. Khasadar officials were directed to assist in rescue efforts.

Khasadars and locals pulled the vehicle from the stream and recovered five of the injured passengers. Three men were found unconscious at the bank of the stream, a kilometre away, said the official.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Peshawar where they were administered first aid. Till this report was filed, five passengers had been discharged.
