ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s "personal attack" against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday, Express News reported.
Earlier the same day, Khan had addressed a rally in Bahawalpur, where he used words for Nawaz Sharif that the ECP found objectionable.
The entire speech will be put before the ECP Chief Fakhruddin Ebrahim in a meeting on Tuesday, where it will be evaluated whether the speech contained offensive remarks or not.
On Friday, ECP had issued a notification prohibiting political parties and their candidates from launching personal attacks against their opponents.
With election campaign in full swing and parties holding rallies, candidates were seen criticising each other and often resorting to name-calling and rhetoric that could be construed as slander.

Imran made a secret coalition with PPP just to split vote bank of PML-N. This coalition will fail and public will give clear majority to PML-N Insha Allah. It is a fact that PML-N will win 11th May elections but it is good for Pakistan to give clear majority to PML-N. If vote bank is split by PTI, that may result in a hung parliament. It will not be good for the country. I respect all my dear PTI fans and I request them to please please be realistic and vote for PML-N to avoid hung parliament. PPP will be benefited due to split of vote. That is why PPP is not running its compaign in Punjab and KPK. Thanks.

Where was Imran Khan when there was dengue virus in Punjab? I salute Shehbaz Sharif for making all possible efforts to combat dengue. Allah bless him. If EC calls IK to show cause then it must treat the sharif brothers in same manner otherwise in my opinion i think EC is one sided.................
I am a PTI supporter but I think that the ECP has acted correctly. Too much political rhetoric is negative criticism of individuals not of policies.

IK is abusing the trust people have in him. He is using langauge which does not suit leaders. His speeches clearly show hidden agreement with Zardari. He is clearly having secret funding and secret deal with PPP & Zardari.

The words "Tu" or "iska" are not offensive in punjab for an opponent, however the expression like "Oye Nawaz Sharif" is highly offensive in our culture in punjab. it is considered pretty cheap to call someone "Oye" unless the addressee is your close friend. Imran khan should control his language as his speeches are telecast on national media and is watched by people of all ages. We do not have "Aap" or "apka" like luchnow culture in punjab.
ECP regularly takes notice of different incidents. It wasn't something to be made a headline, whats wrong with you ET?

PMLN did a lot of projects in last year of their government. Imran Khan accused Shehbaz Sharif that he is doing this for elections. I thought that if he is doing this for elections, even then it is far better than what PPP did or other parties did. I was expecting Imran Khan to criticize what Sindh govt. and other governments did. But I am surprised to hear the same tone from Imran Khan. My ears could still hear Imran Khan criticizing PMLN, and not spitting a word against these real culprits. Now why was Imran Khan getting so personal? Why was he not doing justice to the hopes of the youth? Why is he neglecting PPP, MQM and ANP for their bad governance? Why was there only one evil to him?
Imran is playing with the fire. He should stop lying and focus on his election campaign. If Taliban have given him free hand, it does not mean he can say whatever he wants.
ECP has appointed NAJAM SETHI as care taker PM Punjab who himself admits that he fails to meet article 62/63. This is indeed ironical that ECP wants the election as per article 62/63 compliance.

Attacking public persona is not personal. IK wasn't commenting on sharif's leadership skills in running his many family owned businesses. He was commenting on NS's leadership in the context of Pakistan. A man who routinely dons the image of a leader/sher, and he can't debate his most significant opposition in the country... puts the credibility of NS's leadership skills into question.
So the Muk Muka is speaking out loudly. ECPMLN is paying off the dividends.

Imran Khan is a good addition in the Politics of Punjab but i have listened to his Speech recently where he was referring to Nawaz Sharif as " Tu " and " Iska" and words like " Oay Nawaz Sharif " etc.. I think Politicians should respect each other and Imran Khan next time should use respectful words like Aap for his candidates rather than Tu and Tum and Taira.
Its very much clear now that every institute including interims are working hard to pave way for pml-n ECP
