Election Duty: Comissioner wants 1,400 volunteers

The DC said that currently 500 volunteers had been recruited in the district.

FAISALABAD: Divisional Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Anjum has requested for at least 1,400 volunteers to be recruited in the division for Election Day security. He was presiding over a meeting on Friday. The DC said that currently 500 volunteers had been recruited in the district. He said 300 volunteers would be recruited in Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot. He said that Forest Department guards and Excise and Taxation Department constables would also be used for election security. Regional Police Officer Mian Javaid Islam said that Faisalabad region had been divided into several sectors under the security plan.
