LAHORE:

Government Mozang Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Niaz Ahmed on Sunday said that Government Mozang Hospital was a 50-bed state-of-the-art hospital which was catering to around one million people in the walled city area of Lahore including Temple Road, Mozang, Shadab Colony and other adjoining areas.

All kinds of tests including sugar test, ultrasound, urine test, pregnancy related tests, blood tests and digital X-rays with ambulance service were available free of cost for needy people, he added.               Free medicines were also being provided to outdoor and indoor patients.

The Punjab government has also provided Rs66.5 million to construct a new block for its expansion to 75-bed, he added. Dr Ahmed said that around 300 patients visit the OPDs every day while 93,145 patients were treated at OPDs during 2012 and 3,546 patients were treated at its wards as indoor patients.

Around 50 per cent of disease can be reduced by providing clean drinking water, the medical superintendent said.

Answering a question about the total strength of the hospital, Dr Ahmed said 80 staffers including 15 male and 7 female doctors and paramedical staff were performing duties.

The medical superintendent said all doctors need to be punctual.

Its a report about a hospital. I fail to understand why the title of this report wants to convey the message that doctors aren't punctual. A sizzling title for a poorly written and insignificant news article. Tribune should find better ways to grab attention.
