KARACHI:

After the Davis Cup fiasco in Myanmar, tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi is now looking forward to continuing his international doubles career at the Monte Carlo Masters that will begin on Monday.

The 33-year-old won the Miami Masters for his first ATP 1000 title with Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer last month before representing Pakistan in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania zone Group II tie.

“I’m focusing on my next assignment now,” Aisam told The Express Tribune. “I’m looking forward to the clay season. Rojer and I will try and ensure that we maintain our form that won us the Miami Masters. We want to reach at least the quarter-finals and semi-finals at both events.”

Aisam and Rojer improved their doubles world ranking from number 21 to number four after winning the Miami Open.
