PESHAWAR: A blast near the former agriculture minister Arbab Ayub Jan’s car in Peshawar injured one of his guards on Thursday, reported Express News.

According to initial reports, it was a roadside bomb which targeted Jan’s car in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station.

Jan though escaped unhurt in the incident.

Jan is a senior member of the Awami National Party (ANP) and will be participating in the upcoming elections on NA-4 seat for Peshawar-IV.

Earlier during the day, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) candidate for a Sindh Assembly seat was shot by the Taliban outside his house in Hyderabad.

The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have said that they will be targetting the Pakistan Peoples Party, the ANP and the MQM.

How these election could be free when all progressive parties are not allowed to conduct their election campaign without any let and hindrance? If rightwing parties could not sweep elections now they should hold their peace forever.
