Fire safety: Two injured in factory fire, losses estimated at Rs200m

MULTAN:


Two workers were injured in a fire at a board factory on Monday.


They were taken to Nishtar Hospital, where they were later reported to be out of danger.

Factory owners estimated the losses at Rs200 million.

Rescue officials said that the fire at the factory on Bahawalpur Road was started by an electric short circuit. It took more than 13 teams of fire fighters five hours to put it out.

They said Rescue teams from Khanewal were also part of the operation.

The injured workers were identified as Muhammad Shaban and Muhammad Iqbal.

This is the third large factory fire in a week in Multan. Losses in the three incidents have been estimated at more than Rs600 million.
