Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is confident of building on his results in the opening two races of the season, saying that there is more to come as teams give final shape to their preparations ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix (GP) next weekend, according to ESPNf1.

Hamilton claimed fifth place in the season-opening race in Australia before finishing on the podium at the Malaysian GP, giving hope to Mercedes after the team endured a struggling season last year.

“We’ve had a better start than we expected and to have finished in fifth and third places so far is really positive,” said Hamilton. “I know there is much more to come so we will keep working hard and pushing the development of the car.

“I’ll be at the factory this weekend and look forward to hearing about the upgrades that we will take to China.”

Teammate Nico Rosberg won the Chinese GP last year and is heading to Shanghai with a ‘positive feeling’ as well.

“I travel to China with very good memories,” said Rosberg. “I enjoy the Shanghai track and I have a positive feeling going there with the car we have.”
