A man was injured when a roadside bomb exploded on Masho Khel Road in the jurisdiction of Badhaber police station on Tuesday evening.


Police said two men, Nadeem and Khalilur Rehman, were travelling when their car came under attack. The bomb exploded when they reached Shaheed Stop, leaving Khalil injured and the car itself badly damaged. Khalil was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where his injuries were said to be minor.

“Nadeem is a patwari by profession and the nephew of ex-union council nazim Sameen Jan,” said a policeman. He added the man had no personal enmity and the police was investigating the matter.

He maintained the bomb disposal squad was examining the site of the explosion and they were waiting for expert opinion regarding the weight and type of the device.
